Lord’s Supper & Important Announcement this Sunday!

October 12, 2018 Dear RCC Family and Friends, This Sunday we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion.) Last week we had so many things going on that we needed to postpone our communion celebration for a week. The Lord’s Supper was given to us a a celebration by Jesus so that we would remember the cross and the central place that the cross of Jesus has in the life of each believer. It is the source of our salvation, healing and the forgiveness of sin. Please prepare to participate in this important event in our our corporate experience. This Sunday will also be the last day for collecting Faith Promise cards. If you did not hand in a Faith Promise card last Sunday, you will have an opportunity to do so this Sunday. Faith Promise is working with God to provide for missions. In this discernment process, the believer looks to the Lord “in faith” asking how much to give; then agrees with God to step out in faith to give as the Lord provides. It’s that simple! Rather than restricting God by deciding what I want to give, we ask God what HE wants us to give and then we give it when He provides. It requires faith to discern and give as God directs! That is why we call it Faith Promise. This Sunday we will continue with our Series on the Battlefield of the Mind. This Sunday we will continue looking at how the Bible instructs us to tear down these strongholds! Last Sunday we discovered what the Bible says about the construction of “strongholds” and spent some time seeking God following the message. Strongholds are built in the life of believers when we enter into deception with the enemy by agreement with his accusations and deceptions. Further damage is done when a believer gives in to sinful behavior because of agreement with the enemy. Patterns of sin open the door so that demonic strongholds can oppress our lives. These strongholds distort our thinking and bring bondage into our lives. But there is really good news…. The power of God exists to demolish EVERY strongholds! The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (I Cor.10:4-5) This week we want to become very practical in our approach to dealing with strongholds. We want to experience freedom! Our ministry time this week will be devoted to partnering with God to tear down strongholds in our lives! The blood of Jesus was shed to set us free from bondage to enemy. We enter into freedom as we partner with God using the strategies and examples outlined in the Word of God. This is what we will do! This will be one of the most important times of ministry that we had since January! This coming Sunday is also a very important Sunday for another reason. I will be making an announcement that everyone involved in our church family will need to hear.  Please make every effort to come on Sunday! The information that I have to share is not something that I can relay by email. It is critical information that everyone who is connected with our church family must know in the context of a gathered group. See you on Sunday! Pastor Jon Quesenberry
