Pastor’s Heart (Dec 14)

Announcements: Fellowship Meal this coming Sunday, December 17, after the morning celebration. Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Sunday, Dec 24, 8:00 pm. The plan is for Pastor Jon to begin as pastor of the congregation, January 1, 2018. The official installation has not yet been set but will probably happen soon after he begins.   From the Pastor’s Heart, Here it is almost the middle of December already. Only eleven more days before Christmas. I messed up on getting the announcement about our Christmas Eve Candlelight Service to the Crozet Gazzete in time. It only comes out once a month and I didn’t submit the ad soon enough. Sorry. So, here is plan B. Let’s do what we can to get the word out next week on facebook. I think the church has a facebook page. We will try to post something that everyone can then share on their news feed. For the Christmas Eve service we need persons willing to serve as readers. The service will involve Scripture readings of the Christmas story with the singing of Christmas carols that pertain to that particular reading. So if you would like to serve as a reader I will have a list of the Scriptures you can choose from this Sunday. That will give you a whole week to practice reading. Also, if you have a Christmas song, poem, or reading you would like to share with the congregation as a special selection please let me know by this Sunday. Jon and Carol plan to be with us both Sunday morning and evening on Dec 24. The group they lead in Charlottesville will also be invited to join us for the evening candlelight service. From early indications, it appears that there may be a significant increase in attendance when Pastor Jon assumes the leadership the first of January. Continue to pray that God will bring all those together that may feel called to be part of the new core group that will relaunch the congregation. I sense that God is about to do a new thing in Crozet. I’m excited about the vision and leadership that Jon and Carol will bring.  Please pray for them as they take on this new responsibility. Bless you, Pastor Gerald
