Special Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, December 24, 8:00 pm.   From the Pastor’s Heart, Last Sunday I shared the first of four massages for the advent season. When the Old Testament prophets foretold the coming of Christ there seemed to be no clear separation between His first coming as our Savior and His second coming as our King. They were probably not aware that there would be 2000+ years between the two. But here we are more than 2000 years after the first advent still waiting for the second advent. How much longer? We don’t know. But His coming again may be sooner than we think. This Sunday Jon will be preaching. On Sunday, December 10 I plan to continue the advent series focusing on the second coming of Christ. I realize there are many details that we won’t be able to cover in a few messages but hopefully it will help us see the big picture a little more clearly. The Bible says in reference to the book of Revelation, “Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophesy of this book.” One thing we know for sure, Jesus is coming back again. We can be dogmatic about that. Exactly how it is going to happen we are less sure about. Since there are honest differences of interpretation based on Scripture it is wise to not be dogmatic. Bless you, Pastor Gerald
